A friend of mine just sent me a wonderful book called "Six Word Memoirs by Writers Famous & Obscure: Not Quite What I Was Planning." This book asks "What would a six word memoir look like?" and answers the question with a stunning book of wit and wisdom, written by famous (and not yet famous) writers. A few of my favorites: Well, I thought it was funny. -- Stephen Cobert Many hands have kept me afloat. -- Nick Flynn Not quite what I was planning ... -- Summer Grimes What kind of six word autobiography would you write? Try it out for yourself, and check out www.sixwordmemoir.com for more inspiration. I've just penned one for myself: Illinois to California; home at last. -- Jill Winkelstein Happy Writing! |
